Why bother creating content when there’s so much out there? A lot of small and medium sized businesses have the same problem – the focus, quite rightly, is sales and customer service. The initial need of keeping the doors open takes priority. The grind becomes a type of obsession with owners, hoping that hard work keeps the ball rolling… just gotta keep pushing that metaphoric boulder up a mountain that seems to have no peak.

POST FOR THE FUTURE
Just remember, you’re not posting content for today, you’re posting for the future… “to infinity, and beyond!” You’re creating content for the customer who will one day need the thing your brand offers; and when that glorious day comes, they’ll find reason-after-reason why your brand is the right choice to fix their problem. Just like an athlete training for their goal, you’re building towards yours, and once you reach it, you start the next. It never ends, neither should your content.
SHOW THE BRAND CARES
Being consistent in creating and sharing informative, value adding content, does wonders for creating trust with consumers. By committing to sharing, you’re saying “we believe in what we do”. This will give you a tremendous advantage, because really, you’re not leaving much to chance – unless of course you’re lying about your business, and your offering sucks – which is a whole other problem. By sharing all the reasons why your solution will suit the customers problem, you’re developing all the right positive cognitions.
BUILDING TRUST TAKES TIME
We all know this, so what’s the best formula to secure it? Well, best place to start is being open about what the brand does, and then sharing all the reasons why your brand should be chosen over the competition. Don’t be coy. You’ve invested into the brand, so tell us why! Being an expert helps with decision making. Consumers want to know they’re in safe hands, and that their research and hard-earned money hasn’t been wasted.
CHOOSE ONE PLATFORM TO START
Don’t get caught up in having to be on every platform out there. Trying to keep up with everything will only distract you from the right tasks. Think about your business proposition and choose a platform that will complement the content output. Figure out the strategy and stick to it. It doesn’t matter if you have one product, you can create an endless amount of content if you keep evolving – you might walk the same path to work every day, but it’s likely every step is different in its own way.
Sharing the brand, being informative and providing valuable insights pays off if you stay committed.
