Content is King! Boom… Kobe Bryant mic drop – he did it before Obama. If you’re not creating content for your brand, then how do you expect consumers to know it exists? You might be selling the greatest product or service in the world, but if people can’t find it, then they can’t experience it, which means they can’t buy it again, nor can they tell a friend. You’re literally missing out on the biggest selling point your business will ever have – recommendations. And what’s funny about that is, most of the time, you don’t even know the people recommending your brand. They’re just fans of the thing you do well… the thing you care about so much you’ve built your life around it. Why wouldn’t you want to share that?
The biggest brands in the world know this.
They spend money on their content because they can’t afford not to be seen. Yes, they have big budgets, but really that doesn’t mean anything. The act of creating and sharing content consistently can be done for free. Create a blog, write about your business. Tell the wider community why your brand should be considered… better yet, preferred. There’s attention to grab with passionate storytelling. And if you don’t have time, hire someone. Collaborate on a strategy for what you want. Be realistic and start the content journey. Don’t forget, Google loves content… SEO and all that Jazz.
Here’s a visual to consider.
Picture water being content, your brand being the seed and the consumer being the sun. How does a seed grow? It needs consistent watering and plenty of sun. If you stop, it withers, if you overwater, it floods… if it isn’t exposed to the sun, it dies. So what’s the solution? If you provide it with the right amount, the sun will help it grow. Realistic amounts of consistent content is the key to elevating brand awareness.
